LA Calendar Bike Show

July 18th and 19th 2009

What a great weekend the team had at the LA Calendar Bike Show. We made a lot of new friends and picked up a few new sponsors. We want to thank the folks from ROEHR Motorcycles LLC for allowing us to run thier bike in Sonoma at the next Division 7 race. Katrin, your such a beautiful lady, keep it real. Kal-Gard, thanks for the new sponsorship, the oil will help us out tremendously. Jerry and Purple Slice, you guys are the best! Thank you for a great weekend. We look forward to a very long partnership with you.

Purple Slice

Well the yearly West Coast Thunder Memorial ride is once again in the books. We want to thank Jay, Lester and Jack from Skip Fordyce for another great experience.

We did have another good thing come out this Memorial Day show in downtown Riverside, we got to meet the owner of Purple Slice. Anyone that reads this needs to use this product on everything they own. This stuff is amazing, far beyond anything I have ever seen. To Jerry and Barbara thanks for steeping up and sponsoring GTKRocketRacing. You guys are a class act and we look forward to a long relationship.

2009 NHRA Division and NHRA Summit

Well it's half way thru the 2009 season and here's the latest update. We are currently leading the points in the NHRA Division 7 series with 3 races to go. We are tied for first place in the NHRA Summit series in Fontana Ca at the Autoclub Dragway with 3 races to go.

2009 NHRA Division 7 Tucson Az

WOW, what a way to start the season with a big Division 7 win. This win was a first for both of us and you dont even know how happy we are to get this one behind us. To my best friend and racing partner Gary Moreno, you one bad dude!

2009 Division 6 Boise Id

Well we went out of our division to race division 6 in Boise Id. Let me tell you one thing that we will always remember about this race was how the track personal was able to dry the track. We had rain everyday we were up there and they always put the effort in to dry the track so we could go racing. We want to send a big thank you to the Firebird Raceway Track personal in Boise Id and all of the division 6 personal for showing us division 7 racers a good time. Last note we did win the race so the trip was well worth it!

NHRA Division 6 Acton Montana

Well at the last minute we decide to go run a Division 6 race up in Acton Montana, WOW what a long trip that was. We ended up going to the final losing when the bike would not run the 10.40 dial (running a 10;49) and the other bike running a 8.38 on a 8.37 dial.. Pictures will follow soon. Thanks to all our sponsors for thier continued support.

NHRA Summit Series 2008

Well the season is over for the NHRA Summit Series at California Speedway in Fontana California. We did really well on Saturday making it to the Semi Final round which put us into second place in the points going into the final race on Sunday. Well Sunday didn’t turn out the way we wanted, first round loss. With all said and done we ended up 3rd in the points and that will get us to the NHRA Summit ET Finals in Fallon Nevada in September. We will now turn all our attention to the NHRA Division 7 Series. We need a top 3 finish here so it's time to get back to work and win a few!

SCEDA May 31st and June 1st 2008

We went to Fontana for a SCEDA race to do some testing on the Destroyer and made it to the Semi finals on Saturday and a first round loss on Sunday. i have to say not bad for a test session. We will be running a Division 7 race in Fallon Nevada on June 14th and 15th. I'll post the results on Monday the 16th.

Gainesville 2007

Gainesville 2007

Where do I start? Gary and George hit the road on Wednesday, February 28th to begin our long journey to Florida. The road trip went well considering all the bad weather that was going on in the south. The team arrives in Gainesville Florida on Friday afternoon and wouldn’t you know it, rain.

Now let me tell you about me and Johns adventure. We ended up having a 16 hour flying adventure, wow! Plane was supposed to leave LAX at 10:40PM, we finally left at 2:00AM, that sucks since the bars close down at 12:00.

Lets fast forward to Saturday. It has rained for three days straight and it continued on Saturday. The crew finally gets the track dried and we start running first round qualifying at 4:30PM. First up was our hired gun John "The Kid" Gidcumb. John does the burnout and stages, he launches and runs a respectful 14.10 ( couldn’t find the shift button ). The good news was he ended up being the number one qualifier with a .005 light, great job John!

Now for the rest of the story. Gary's turn to qualify for the Destroyer class. The burnout is perfect ( he is the burn out king, sorry Force ) and the launch is picture perfect. He runs a 9.76 which is not even close to where we needed to be. We take the Destroyer back up to the staging lanes to qualify for the Super Gas (9.70). The burnout looks good but the launch wasn’t. The bike shuts off instantly, why??? To make a long story short, seized the bearings. We will be back in Phoenix so watch out, GTKRocketRacing will be on kill.

The team would like to thank George and John Gidcumb for stepping up and helping out the team. We love you guys and your always welcome on this team. To Matt and Thomas, thanks for the support. It was good seeing you guys and we look forward to next year. To my team mate and best pal Gary, love ya man, you are a bad ass!

Pro Gas, yes we said Pro Gas!!!

April 26,2006 Well today's the big day we leave to drive to PA to pick up the new bike. 120 Pro Gas, all I can say is WOW! We arrive in St Mary's PA on Friday at 10:30PM East Coast time. The plus about this trip besides the new bike is the new friends we made. We sat around and had a few beers while we learned more about the Pro Gas bike. Thanks Dave for everything. We leave at 1:30AM to drive to Pitts PA to pick up Gary and Edwin to help drive back home. A little piece of advice, Dont try this, it's not any fun driving cross the country with a 14 year old girl. So be on the look out for the new bike at a race near you.

Phoenix 2006

April 10,2006 2nd race of the season, Firebird Raceway. The ET bike was still broke (wrenched on it till 1:30AM) so we ran the 10.50 bike for the first time. We ran one round of qualifying, qualified last. 1st round on Sunday, Red Light!!!We still have a lot to learn about the old school shovel.

Gainesville Results

March 8, 2006 The trip to Gainesville was a long and tiring drive. Me and Gary pulled out of Southern California Wednesday March 1, 2006 at 7:00PM. 2400 MILES AND $900.00 dollars in fuel later we arrived in Gainseville at 8:30PM Friday night. To make a long story short, we went out first round in the ET and the SEP. Better luck next year.
